I love feeling sexually aroused.
My vulva feels warm and tingly.
My breath and heartbeat quicken.
My senses are alert.
The sun shines brighter.
Every aroma smells robust,
My skin welcomes every touch.
Foods taste delicious.
I feel alive.
Arousal isn’t a necessarily a signal for sex or a need for an orgasm. For me, arousal can be an end in itself. I can just enjoy it without having to do anything about it.
One of my favorite things to do is being out in public while being aroused. It makes shopping at Trader Joe’s so much better. I move my body to the music as I push the cart down the aisle. The fruits and vegetables look so luscious. I have dirty thoughts as I size up the zucchinis on display. Other shoppers make eye contact and smile. On an unconscious level, they pick up on my happy sex energy. I remember once when checking out, the man packing my bags blurted out “I’m a married man!” There was no verbal flirting, only a glance and a smile. Yet my arousal was noticed. That made me happy too.
How do I get aroused?
Certainly vulva massage and vibrators will bring in blood flow and generate my arousal. Reading a kinky story on Literotica or watching a spicy movie on XConfessions can spark my arousal too. I use these tools when I purposefully want to become aroused for sex.
I can also become aroused whenever I pause long enough to connect to sensations in my body that come in from my environment. Standing by the shore of the lake with my eyes closed, listening to the waves crash, feeling the breeze move across my skin, and inhaling the fresh scent of the air. Getting out of my head and into my sensual body sparks my sexual arousal. Simply, I let my body lead.
Providing opportunities for small sensual experiences in my daily routine helps increase connection with my body. I find good smells very pleasurable, so I have favorite essential oil liquid hand soap by every sink. My bed sheets are smooth cotton percale or soft German flannel. I enjoy feeling the texture against my bare skin. Rich, dark roast coffee awakens my taste buds and my body as I savor my first cup every morning. Regular, pleasurable connection with my body supports my arousal.
When I’m aroused, I’m happy, confident, and open. I’m creative, motivated, and energized. Arousal is just as pleasurable as orgasm.
